Siliguri, 14th August: Tight security arrangements have been enforced across the country to prevent any untoward incidents on Independence Day.
Strict surveillance is being kept by the Bagdogra Police and Bagdogra Traffic Guard. Since Saturday morning, the Bagdogra Traffic Guard started traffic checking campaign at Panighata More area. On the other hand, Bagdogra police conducted Naka checking at Bihar More area.
Railway stations, bus stands, tourist spots, shopping malls, administrative offices, and other important places in the city are under strict police surveillance. Sensitive areas of the city are also being monitored with the help of metal detectors and dog squads. The police administration is on high alert to prevent any untoward incident on Independence Day.
