Siliguri, 07th September: A mysterious case has emerged in Siliguri surrounding the death of a woman, identified as Kakali Mandal. Her lifeless body was found hanging from a noose in her rented residence in Jyoti Nagar, Ward No. 41 of Siliguri.
According to the deceased’s father, about a decade ago, Kakali Mandal had been married to a man, but for the past year, she had left her husband and was living with another man. The couple resided in a rented house in the Jyoti Nagar area. The grim discovery of the woman’s hanging body was made on Wednesday night, prompting the local authorities to respond.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Bhaktinagar police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and initiated an investigation. Subsequently, a post-mortem examination was conducted at the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.
Apparently, the deceased woman had severed ties with her family. The owner of the house where she lived informed her family members about the tragic incident. In response, the woman’s father arrived and filed a complaint with the Bhaktinagar police station, suspecting foul play in his daughter’s death. The Bhaktinagar police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
