Siliguri, 16th January: In a heart-wrenching incident that has sent shockwaves through the quiet neighborhood of Bowbazar in Uttar Samar Nagar, a man named Shyamol Roy allegedly ended the lives of his wife, Pinky Roy, and their 5-year-old son, Pintu Roy, before taking his own life.
Preliminary investigations suggest that mounting debt may have driven the man to commit such a dreadful act. Upon receiving information about the tragedy, the Bhakti Nagar police swiftly reached the scene, recovered the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examination.
According to Pinky Roy’s father, the couple had been married for about 14 years and had one child. When Shyamol and Pinky failed to answer their phones, he rushed to their residence and was horrified to find Shyamol hanging from a ceiling fan. Meanwhile, his daughter and grandson lay in a pool of blood on the bed. The grieving father believes Shyamol first slit the throats of his wife and son before taking his own life.
While the police are investigating the matter thoroughly, the initial findings point towards a debt-ridden man driven to commit the tragic act. The Bhakti Nagar police are currently probing the case to unravel the exact sequence of events that led to this tragic incident.
