Siliguri, 04th March: Sensation prevailed after a man was killed in broad daylight at the Shantinagar area, on Thursday.
Reportedly, Shankar Das was killed by his cousin brother Suresh Das over a family dispute. The incident created a stir in the entire area. Ashighar outpost police reached the spot and arrested the accused immediately.
As per the information, Shankar was at a tea shop this morning, when his cousin brother Suresh Das attacked him with a sharp knife. Upon hearing his screams, the locals rushed to Shankar’s rescue and took him to the hospital. Unfortunately, he passed away. Following this, the police arrested the accused from the area.
Locals accused the arrested brother Suresh of being a drunkard. ACP East Shuvendra Kumar said that the cause of the murder is being investigated.
