Siliguri, 10th April: In a major breakthrough, Bongaigaon Police of Assam, with assistance from Bhakti Nagar police station, arrested a resident of Bhutan accused of murdering a driver and selling the stolen vehicle. The accused, identified as Thenrup Lepcha, had been absconding for the past 10 days and was finally tracked down and arrested from the Bhupendra Nagar area of Siliguri.
According to reports, about 10 days ago, the body of a driver was recovered from Bongaigaon police station area of Assam. On starting the investigation of the case, Bongaigaon police of Assam came to know that the driver was murdered to steal the vehicle and sell it.
After further investigation, the police came to know that about 10 days ago the driver came to Assam from Bhutan with a cargo vehicle. During this, the accused followed him.
Subsequently, the police started searching for the accused. Eventually, with the help of the mobile tower location of the accused, the police came to know that the accused was hiding in Siliguri.
Without delay, the Bongaigaon police of Assam reached Siliguri in search of the accused and with the help of the police of Bhakti Nagar police station, arrested the accused hiding in Bhupendra Nagar.
