Darjeeling, 02nd May: After bagging all five seats in Darjeeling district, Darjeeling MP and BJP leader Raju Bista, through a press release, congratulated all the citizens of West Bengal for participating in the assembly election and supporting the party.
“Five years ago in 2016, BJP only had 3 MLAs and two MPs, and eventhough our party has gained lesser number of seats than we expected, it is because of your belief in the vision of a New Bengal that BJP has today emerged as the 2nd largest party in the state,” Bista stated.
MP Raju Bista congratulated all the hardworking party workers and activists of BJP and the alliance partners. MP Bista thanked for the efforts put forward to remove the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government from the Darjeeling district. The BJP party has won 5 out of 5 seats in the Darjeeling district, namely, Darjeeling, Kurseong, Siliguri, Matigara-Naxalbari and Phansidewa. Though the party suffered defeat in Kalimpong by a very narrow margin, they however registered leading wins in the majority of the seats in Darjeeling hills, Terai, and Dooars region.
Bista assured the people that along with the MLAs that he will work towards fulfilling the promises made by the BJP party to the people of Darjeeling district. He congratulated all the newly-elected MLAs and hoped to work together in fulfilling the aspirations of the people and serving them to the best of their abilities.
MP Bista also congratulated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her party’s win in the elections. He stated that he anticipates Banerjee’s government to work for the development of all the regions and people without any discrimination.
