Siliguri, 23rd November: BJP MP Jayanta Roy demanded immediate repair of the water tank situated in Ward No. 31.
According to the information, residents of various wards including 31 and 32 rely on the concrete water tank used to store purified drinking water. As the roof of the tank suddenly collapsed, the people are living in fear. Ward No. 31 Trinamool Congress staged a protest on Tuesday demanding immediate repair of the crumbling tank.
On the other hand, Ward Co-ordinator Deepa Biswas assured that the tank will be repaired soon. Following this, the water department stopped the tank’s water supply and the SMC made alternative arrangements to supply water to the people.
Upon receiving the news, BJP MP Jayanta Roy reached the area on Monday morning. He expressed outrage over the role of the state water department in the matter and has directed the water department official to resolve the issue immediately.
