Bagdogra, 17th January: A fire broke out in a moving pickup van loaded with cement. The driver of the vehicle managed to save himself.
The incident took place on the way to Bengdubi from Bagdogra on Monday afternoon. Upon receiving the news, a fire engine of the Bengdubi army camp reached the spot and brought the situation under control. On the other hand, the Bagdogra police station reached the spot after receiving the news.
Mohammad Ramzan, the driver of the vehicle, said that he saw smoke coming out of the vehicle while loading the goods. The fire broke out as soon as the vehicle was stopped. Later the fire brigade reached and extinguished the fire.
