Siliguri, 22nd December: A woman held the in-laws of her daughter responsible for her death and demanded a proper investigation and appropriate punishment for the culprits.
Reportedly, Chayanika Pal married Chandan Pal, a resident of Shivmandir on November 23, 2019. However, Chayanika died within a year of the marriage.
Sampa Pal, the mother of the deceased, alleged that her daughter was killed by the in-laws. Apparently, Chayanika’s in-laws had called Sampa on April 14, 2020, to inform her that her daughter was admitted to the hospital. By the time she reached the hospital, Sampa received the news of Chayanika’s death. Her in-laws asserted that Chayanika committed suicide by hanging herself.
Meanwhile, Sampa alleges that she noticed several injury marks on her daughter’s body. Reportedly, a complaint was also lodged at the Matigara police station against the in-laws, however, no action has been taken by the police yet. Hence, Sampa demanded proper investigation into her daughter’s untimely death and appropriate punishment to the culprits.
Although attempts were made to contact Chandan Pal and his family in this regard, however, they could not be reached and their phones were switched off.
