Rajganj, 16th September: The CPI(M) activists are likely to file a case at the Supreme Court if the criminals involved in the Rajganj rape cases are not given severe punishment. On Wednesday, CPI(M) leader Mohammad Salim and chairman of the BoA at SMC Ashok Bhattacharya visited the residences of the three victims and held discussions with the family members.
In this context, Mohammad Salim stated that they talked to both the families. He alleged that the ones who came from the State Child Protection Commission had pre-planned to hide the perpetrators. He took a jibe at them for claiming that no gang rape had occurred even before the autopsy report had arrived.
Salim added that the family members have demanded the execution of the culprits.
“We too demand the same. If necessary we will approach the Supreme Court,” he added.
Incidentally, on the evening of August 10, a minor resident of Lalskul Balabari of Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat in Rajganj was gang-raped, murdered, and then dumped into a septic tank.
On the other hand, on September 4, two sisters were returning home from their uncle’s house on Friday, during which they were abducted by five youths and gang-raped in a nearby tea garden. The Rajganj police arrested the five accused.
