Siliguri, 16th August: Protests continue to intensify across the state following the rape and murder of a junior doctor at Kolkata’s R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, with demonstrations taking place in Siliguri as well.
On Friday, BJP workers and supporters, led by Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Sikha Chatterjee, blocked the road near Payal Cinema More in Siliguri. The protesters voiced their outrage over the incident and demanded immediate action.
During the demonstration, MLA Sikha Chatterjee criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and called for her resignation in response to the incident.
