Rajganj, 27th August: A new road project under the Pathashree-3 scheme was inaugurated in Sariam, Rajganj, on Wednesday. MLA Khageswar Roy laid the foundation stone for the construction in the Kukurjan Gram Panchayat area of Rajganj block.
As per reports, the new road will stretch from Kali Mandir near the Ambari-Falakata road to Fakirpur Primary School, covering a total length of 5.50 km from National Highway 27 at Sariam. The project, under the supervision of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹2.05 crore.
Along with MLA Khageswar Roy, the foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad Karmadhyaksha Ranbir Majumdar, Zilla Parishad member Uttara Barman, Rajganj Block TMC President Arindam Banerjee, Youth President Niladri Ghosh, Kukurjan Gram Panchayat Pradhan Gopal Poddar, and several others.
