MLA Khageswar Roy laid the foundation stone for construction of a bridge on Talma River

Rajganj, 12th February: In a recent development, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy laid the foundation stone for the construction work of a new bridge on the Talma River in the Sarkar Para area of Shikarpur Gram Panchayat adjacent to Belakoba under Rajganj block. Significantly, the new bridge is being constructed with the aid of the North Bengal Development Department at a cost of about Rs 2 crore 66 lakh.


The programme witnessed the presence of Rajganj Panchayat Samiti President Rupali Dey Sarkar, Rajganj BDO Prashant Barman, Zilla Parishad members Ranbir Majumder, Arindam Banerjee, and others.

Reportedly, on Monday, the MLA laid the foundation stone for the construction of the bridge. In this regard, MLA Khageswar Roy stated that there was a long-standing demand for a bridge on the Talma River connecting the Sarkar Para and Fatinga Line area of Rajganj Assembly Constituency. He added that the foundation stone has been laid under CM Mamata Banerjee’s initiative and with the cooperation of the NBDD. Further, the MLA stated that the new development would benefit the citizens of the area.
