Siliguri, 07th February: Siliguri’s renowned cultural organisation Mitra Sammilani will organise a two-day celebration to mark its 117th anniversary. The programme will be held on February 24 and 25 at Dinabandhu Mancha in the city.
Speaking to the media, Mitra Sammilani president Ashok Bhattacharya said the celebrations will begin on February 24, with noted cultural personality Chandril Bhattacharya attending as a special guest. The opening day will feature a theatrical performance along with various cultural programmes.
On the second day, February 25, Mitra Sammilani will present its own stage production, in addition to several other cultural events for the audience.
Meanwhile, general secretary Saurav Bhattacharya said Mitra Sammilani has long played a significant role in preserving Siliguri’s cultural heritage. He added that the organisation is not merely an institution but an integral part of the city’s cultural life, and the 117th anniversary celebrations will offer a rich blend of theatre, cultural performances and creative presentations for audiences.
