Miscreants use gas cutter to cut ATM and escape with lakhs in Rangapani

Siliguri, 05th August: In a brazen act, miscreants executed a bold robbery by using a gas cutter to cut open the vault of an ATM. The incident occurred in the Rangapani Super Market area under Bagdogra police station in the jurisdiction of Siliguri Police Commissionerate. Reportedly, during the early hours of Saturday morning, the culprits entered the ATM counter and skillfully cut the vault open with a gas cutter, escaping with a substantial amount of money worth lakhs.


The robbery came to the attention of local residents in the morning, who promptly alerted the Bagdogra police station. On receiving the information, the police team rushed to the scene of the crime. Upon inspection, the police confirmed that the vault of the ATM had indeed been breached using a gas cutter. The investigators then examined the CCTV footage from the area, revealing the shocking sight of three individuals entering the ATM counter around 3 am, carrying gas cylinders with them.


According to police sources, the targeted ATM was estimated to hold approximately three lakh rupees. The Bagdogra police station has launched a thorough investigation into the incident, aiming to apprehend the culprits behind this audacious robbery.
