Siliguri, 12th January: Sensation prevailed after some miscreants attempted to rob an ATM near Siliguri Court More. The security guard, identified as Sabirul Haque, was injured in the incident.
As per the report, the miscreants entered the SBI’s e-corner near Court More around 3.15 am on the wee hours of Tuesday. They allegedly carried sharp weapons and attacked the security guard Sabirul Haque. Upon receiving the news, the Siliguri police reached the spot. However, the miscreants managed to escape the scene by then.
The police recovered some weapons and materials from the spot. On the other hand, the injured security guard was admitted to the Siliguri district hospital immediately. Meanwhile, the bank officials reached the spot this morning. Siliguri police have started an investigation into the whole incident.
According to bank sources, the miscreants entered the ATM by climbing over the wall and then attacked the security guard. A search is being carried out to find the criminals. Besides, the investigators are also trying to collect all the CCTV footage of the Court More area.
