Siliguri, 28th July: An individual posing as a passenger stole a mobile phone from an e-rickshaw driver in Champasari.
According to reports, an e-rickshaw driver was en route from Champasari More to Sri Guru Vidyamandir School when a man boarded the vehicle, claiming he needed to go to the Baghajatin Colony. The driver agreed, and the man directed him to a lane near Champasari Kali Mandir, where he said he needed to pick up a family member from a house.
While pretending to call the family member, the man took the driver’s mobile phone and fled. When the man did not return after a significant amount of time, the driver realized he had been deceived. The driver subsequently filed a written complaint at the Pradhan Nagar Police Station. At present, the police are investigating the incident to hunt down the miscreant.
