Miscreant broke into Siliguri businessman’s office through a narrow gap and fled with cash

Siliguri, 02nd January: An unusual incident of theft surfaced from the Ganga Nagar area of Ward No. 5 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC), where a thief discarded his clothes and broke into a businessman’s office and fled with a significant amount of cash. The incident led to a widespread commotion in the area.


According to reports, on Monday night at around 1.50 a.m., the thief entered businessman Dhananjay Tiwari’s office, through a gap of 10-12 inches, by cutting the iron rod of the window. The thief allegedly damaged the CCTV camera installed in the office and made off with Rs 1.5 lakhs.

After the robbery, the miscreant allegedly wrapped cellotape on the gate of Dhananjay’s residence, located next to his office. To escape being caught, the thief cleverly turned the directions of several CCTV cameras.


On Tuesday morning, the matter was reported to the Khalpara Outpost. Currently, the police are engaged in detailed investigation of the entire incident.
