Phansidewa, 28th August: In a tragic development, the body of a minor girl, missing for nine days, was recovered from a drain in a tea garden in Phansidewa. The police have arrested the girl’s uncle in connection with the incident.
The District Police Superintendent, Praween Prakash, confirmed that the minor was strangled with a rope. Reportedly, the ninth-grade student had been missing since August 18, prompting her family to file a complaint at the Ghoshpukur Outpost.
On Tuesday, tea garden workers discovered the body in a drain while picking leaves, sparking widespread shock and concern in the area. The District Police Superintendent quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. The girl’s family has alleged that she was raped and murdered. The police arrested the minor’s uncle as part of the investigation.
According to the Superintendent of Police, the murder occurred on the day the girl went missing. The motive is still under investigation, and the possibility of rape will be confirmed following the post-mortem examination. The accused has admitted to the crime.
