Siliguri, 22nd February: The Uttar Pradesh Police arrested a youth from the area near Matigara for kidnapping a minor. The arrested youth has been identified as Vishal Yadav, a resident of Mehtarpur in Uttar Pradesh. The police have also rescued the abducted minor girl.
The Uttar Pradesh Police presented the accused in the Siliguri ACJM court, took him on transit remand, and left for Uttar Pradesh, today. It has been reported that a minor, from Uttar Pradesh, went missing on the 11th of October 2019. The family members of the minor had lodged a missing report at the Bareilly Police station in Uttar Pradesh. According to the report, it was revealed that Vishal Yadav, a resident of Mehtarpur village in Uttar Pradesh, had eloped with the said minor. During the investigation, it was reported that both of them were in Siliguri. A team of the Uttar Pradesh Police arrived at Siliguri, today, arrested the accused and recovered the minor from the area near Matigara, with the help of Matigara Police.
