Siliguri, 09th November: A couple from Jharkhand, missing for 5 days, were traced in Siliguri. Following this, the accused lover Shahnawaz Alam was arrested on charge of kidnapping the minor girl.
As per reports, Shahnawaz, a youth from Jharkhand was engaged in a romantic relationship with a minor girl living in his neighborhood. The couple’s love blossomed at an early age. Later, as the family members came to know about their relationship, restrictions emerged. Following this, Shahnawaz eloped with his minor girlfriend from Jharkhand and arrived to live in Siliguri.
Subsequently, the family of the minor girl filed a complaint of kidnapping against the youth at the police station. During the investigation, on Thursday afternoon, Jharkhand Police, in collaboration with the Pradhan Nagar police station of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police, arrested Shahnawaz from Gurung Basti area of Siliguri’s Ward No. 03, on charges of kidnapping the minor. In addition, the minor girl was rescued.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand Police produced Shahnawaz before the Siliguri court and left for Jharkhand after taking the accused on transit remand.
