Minor missing from Chennai rescued in Siliguri, one arrested

Siliguri, 29th September: In a significant achievement, the vigilance of a voluntary organization helped rescue a minor in Siliguri who was missing from Chennai.


As per reports, 25-year-old Bikki Ravi Das went to Chennai a few days ago and fell in love with a minor girl. Subsequently, he took the minor along and was on his way to Assam intending to marry her. During the journey, Bikki halted at the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Station. Following this, they went to Siliguri junction to board a train for Assam.

Meanwhile, a voluntary organization spotted the duo. Upon questioning them, they sensed suspicion and handed them over to the Pradhan Nagar Police Station. Later after further interrogation by the police, the truth was revealed.


Significantly, the girl being a minor, a case of abduction was registered against Bikki Ravi Das and was produced before the Siliguri court on Friday. Simultaneously, Siliguri Metropolitan Police also informed the Chennai Police about the incident. Upon being notified, Chennai police accompanied by the minor’s family left for Siliguri. At present, the police are engaged in investigating the entire matter.
