Siliguri, 16th August: A serious allegation of gang rape involving a minor has emerged in Siliguri. Four individuals, including three minors, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
According to reports, a young man befriended the minor girl, who resides in Siliguri, and invited her to meet him on Thursday. The girl was then allegedly taken to an isolated location in the Kawakhali area, where she was raped. A written complaint was filed at the NJP police station immediately following the incident. Police arrested the four suspects later that night.
Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar confirmed the arrests and stated that an investigation into the case has been initiated.
Meanwhile, after the matter came to light, Siliguri BJP MLA Shankar Ghosh has condemned the incident.
