Siliguri, 11th August: A shocking incident has unfolded in Siliguri’s Ward No. 04 near Burdwan Road, where a minor has been accused of murdering an elderly man.
The victim, Mohammad Sabjan (71), was allegedly brutally beaten by the minor following a heated argument on Friday. According to reports, the dispute escalated and the minor attacked the elderly man in the middle of the road. As a result, Sabjan was severely injured and immediately rushed to Siliguri District Hospital and later transferred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for further treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning.
The incident has caused an uproar in the locality, with residents demanding justice for the deceased. The police from Khalpara Outpost have already arrested the accused minor and presented him before the Darjeeling Juvenile Court. The victim’s family has called for strict punishment, alleging that the minor had previously assaulted several other residents in the area.
