Siliguri, 08th January: Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (I/C) Prahlad Singh Patel and Darjeeling MP Raju Bista met the 10-year-old rape victim of Kharibari at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, today.
After meeting the victim, Patel expressed outrage over the current situation of the hospital. He said that a veterinary hospital provides better treatment than NBMCH. He assured to stand by the victim’s side until she gets justice.
On the other hand, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista highly condemned the incident and accused the police administration of always trying to save the TMC leaders.
He scoffed at the state government, saying that according to the National Crime Report Bureau, Bengal has the highest number of atrocities against women. Till 2018, around 65,000 women went missing. West Bengal ranks third regarding violence against women. The people of Bengal will not tolerate this anymore.
