Cooch Behar, 01st July: In a significant development, the Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik, along with BJP MLAs and opposition party candidates from different areas of Cooch Behar, met with the Governor at the Circuit House. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the prevailing situation in the region and request the deployment of central forces for ensuring fair elections.
The delegation, comprising five BJP MLAs, including Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik, as well as opposition party candidates and activists from various areas of Cooch Behar, engaged in a lengthy discussion with the Governor. They presented their grievances and emphasized the need for additional security measures during the upcoming elections.
Following the meeting, the Governor proceeded to a private hospital in Cooch Behar to visit the injured BJP candidate Krishna Ravi Das at Sitalkuchi Dakali Haat. After inquiring about Das’s health, the Governor continued his visit to Dinhata.
