Siliguri, 12th May: During a press conference at the Siliguri Mainak Tourist Lodge on Tuesday, the State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb condemned the role of the Central Government amid the pandemic.
The Minister accused the Centre of carrying out needless politics during such a crisis and expressed outrage over the fact that no prior information was provided to them regarding the visit of the Central team in the state. He further alleged that although the State Government has adopted various initiatives to deal with the pandemic so far, the Centre has only criticized their work.
He further added that although Gujarat has reported more COVID-19 positive cases than West Bengal, the Central did not raise any question concerning the condition in Gujarat.
Apart from this, the Minister presented various statistics of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund during the press conference.
