Siliguri, 12th June: State Minister for Urban Development, Firhad Hakim, convened a crucial meeting with councilors and officials of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Wednesday.
During the session, various developmental issues concerning Siliguri were extensively discussed. One of the key points highlighted was the requirement for funding to support several ongoing projects within the SMC. The Municipal Commissioner brought this matter to the attention of the minister, emphasizing the necessity for financial assistance.
In his address, Minister Firhad Hakim urged all councilors to strengthen their rapport with the citizens, stressing the importance of community engagement in municipal governance.
Hakim lauded the efforts of the SMC under the leadership of CM Mamata Banerjee, affirming continued support for the corporation’s initiatives. He expressed optimism about Siliguri’s progress, envisioning its transformation into a modern city in the near future.
The meeting, attended by prominent figures including SMC Mayor Gautam Deb, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Chairman Pratul Chakraborty, along with other councilors and officials, concluded with a renewed commitment to the city’s development.
