Siliguri, 25th February: STF arrested a KLO militant, later identified as Avinash Roy, from Khalpara in Siliguri, on Thursday night. Reportedly, he is a resident of Assam and had been working as a laborer in the said area for the past several months.
As per the STF, the youth might have been on a mission to extract money from the traders. Assumably, several more militants have entered Siliguri and North Bengal along with the arrested youth.
After the arrested made by the officials of STF’s North Bengal branch, a search is being conducted to find the ones associated with him. On Friday, Avinash was produced at Siliguri court where STF appealed to take him into police custody.
STF DSP Sudip Bhattacharya said that one KLO militant has been arrested. An application has been made for 14 days of custody.
