Phansidewa, 09th September: An unsettling incident of abduction and gang rape of a mentally challenged woman has surfaced from Phansidewa under the jurisdiction of the Bidhan Nagar Police Station. The incident led to the arrest of a suspect identified as Mohammad Zahirul.
Reports indicate that during the night, three young men allegedly abducted the victim while she was walking home. They reportedly took her to a pineapple plantation in the dark of night where she was allegedly subjected to sexual assault.
Following the incident, the victim’s family promptly lodged a written complaint with the Phansidewa police. In response, authorities have arrested Mohammad Zahirul and presented him in the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Monday. The entire case is under further investigation.
