Siliguri, 06th August: The NJP Station Market Vyavasayee Samiti handed over a memorandum to the NJP police station regarding the attack on hotelier and former councillor Sameer Dey.
It has been learned that a memorandum was handed over to the OC of NJP Police Station Samir Tamang demanding immediate action against the culprits and security of the traders.
In this regard, Samiti secretary Satyajit Dey said that they have been assured by the administration that such conflicts will not be repeated. He warned of staging larger demonstrations if such incidents occur again.
Reportedly, hotelier and former councillor Sameer Dey was attacked by some local miscreants last night. After the incident, he was rescued and rushed to the hospital. A large police force of the NJP police station reached the spot shortly after and brought the situation under control. A complaint was lodged against the accused individuals.
On the basis of that allegation, the police arrested two persons named Mohammad Shakil and Fakir last night. They were produced at Jalpaiguri court today.
