Siliguri, 30th August: On the occasion of Rakhi Purnima, members of the transgender community tied rakhi on the wrist of Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb on Wednesday morning and wished for his good health.
According to information, the members arrived at the residence of Mayor Goutam Deb, with rakhis, in the morning, after which, they fastened the rakhis on the wrist of the Mayor and treated him with sweets. During the special occasion, they stated that they tied the rakhi on the wrist of Goutam Deb and wished him for his good health. They added that the Mayor always extends his care and support to the community.
