Siliguri, 23rd April: A mega blood donation and Yogasana program was organized today on the initiative of Jatiya Shakti Sangha and Uttar Abhiyan Sanstha. The program was held at the ground of Sri Guru Vidya Mandir School located in Ward No. 46 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
According to reports, the program was organized with the support of Ward Councilor Dilip Barman, who has been instrumental in organizing this event every year. The aim of the event is to collect 600 units of blood through the blood donation camp.
Ward Councilor Dilip Barman said that the event was organized to promote sports in the ward and to overcome the shortage of blood in the city’s hospitals. The Yogasana program was conducted in ten categories for young men and women, and the winners in the men’s and women’s division were awarded the Uttarar Sundar and Uttarar Sundari trophies. He also mentioned that four beds have been provided to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital on the occassion. The target for the blood donation camp has been set to collect 600 units of blood.
