Siliguri, 13th January: A meeting was held, today, at Siliguri Junction’s Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority Bhawan, in which, the Central and State representatives discussed various issues with the tea plantation labor unions and plantation management. The Alipurduar MP John Barla, Rajya Sabha MP Dola Sen, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Zone-2 Hansraj Roy, Jalpaiguri PF Commissioner Zone-1 B Laljamang, West Bengal PF Commissioner S.K. Sanmang, Minister in charge of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Dilip Bhattacharya and many others were present in the seminar.
In the seminar, the problems of the workers like Provident Fund and Employees’ State Insurance were mainly discussed. The workers stated that they would feel convenient in conducting PF related works through an offline system.
In this context, Alipurduar MP John Barla stated that Jalpaiguri PF Commissioner Zone-1 B Laljamang, West Bengal PF Commissioner S.K. Sanmang have been instructed to investigate the PF related problems of workers.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Dola Sen stated that all the issues discussed, today, will be raised in the House to solve the problems of the workers.
