Siliguri, 12th October 2023: While natural calamity is not in our control, standing by the affected people in times of need and providing them with much-needed medical aid is the collected responsibility of the medical fraternity.
In an effort to contribute their bit during the recent natural calamity in Sikkim and parts of West Bengal, Medica Cancer Hospital Rangapani & Medica North Bengal Clinic, Siliguri, in association with Vikrun Foundation and GTA, conducted a Disaster Relief Medical Camp at Teesta Bazaar on 12th October 2023. Around 200 patients of all age groups were provided with medical treatment along with free distribution of Medicines, Baby Diapers, Baby Feeding Powders, Sanitary Pads, Odomos and Toiletries. The relief camp had facilities for blood sugar screening and nebulization was provided to people with respiratory distress.
The attendees were also vaccinated with Tetanus Toxoid Injection. Using this opportunity to educate people about the precautions, the doctors spoke to them at length regarding health related safety measures and protocols in this situation. The 16-member relief team comprised doctors, nursing staff, pharmacist and other medical support staff from Medica Group of Hospitals. Doctors present included, Dr. Abhijit Saran, Dr. Dawa Tshering Bhutia, Dr. Manish Goswami and Wing Commander (Dr) Biplab Bhattarai (Retd).
