Siliguri, 30th June: The Mayor of Siliguri, Goutam Deb, officially inaugurated the temporary office of Borough Committee No. III at the Indoor Stadium in Siliguri. Reportedly, the permanent office for the committee is currently undergoing construction, and as an interim solution, a makeshift office has been established.
As per the information, the construction of the Borough Committee No. III office is estimated to cost Rs 1.24 crore. The completion of the new building is expected within approximately eighteen months. Today, the temporary office was inaugurated in the presence of Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb, Chairman of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) Pratul Chakraborty, as well as other council members and councilors.
Addressing the gathering, the Mayor emphasized the Trinamool Congress’s commitment to development. He further mentioned that in order to strengthen the Borough Committees, the SMC has devised a plan to allocate Rs 1 crore annually for development projects. Additionally, the construction of new office buildings aims to enhance the efficiency of the Borough Committees’ operations.
