Siliguri, 19th June: Mayor Gautam Deb visited the family of Ashish Dey, the guard of Kanchanjunga Express who lost his life in the Rangapani train accident. Dey, a resident of Sukanta Pally, Ward No. 32, Siliguri, had switched his duty from the Shatabdi Express to the Kanchanjunga Express on Monday before the tragic incident occurred.
On Wednesday, Mayor Deb visited Dey’s residence to offer his condolences and support. He spoke with Dey’s wife and family, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss. Mayor Deb acknowledged the profound impact of the incident on Dey’s wife and daughter. He further assured them of his support during this difficult time.
