Siliguri, 07th May: Mayor Gautam Deb has undertaken proactive measures to combat the spread of dengue in Siliguri. The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has initiated comprehensive planning to prevent a potential outbreak with 12 reported cases as of now.
As per reports, Mayor Gautam Deb has held several meetings on preventing the spread of dengue. On Tuesday, the mayor held a meeting with the health department officials of SMC in the virtual presence of Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling Sub-Divisional Magistrates.
Following the meeting, the mayor emphasized the need to curb the disease and the measures to be undertaken. However, due to environmental welfare, the use of fogging machines cannot be carried out. The mayor appealed to the residents to strictly follow protocols to prevent a potential outbreak.
