Siliguri, 26th February: Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, the new chairman of the advisory committee of North Bengal State Transport Corporation (N.B.S.T.C.), held a meeting on infrastructure development.
It is to be noted that the N.B.S.T.C. was established during the rule of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) in the state. Several buses commute across the city under the N.B.S.T.C. organization. However, the infrastructural condition of the organization has been deteriorating with time.
In view of this, the new chairman of the advisory committee of the organization, Gautam Deb, has undertaken the initiative of infrastructural development of N.B.S.T.C. On Monday, the officials of SJDA, N.B.S.T.C., and police joined the meeting with Gautam Deb in this matter.
Following the meeting, the Mayor stated that the initiatives have been undertaken in efforts to give a new shape to the bus company. In addition, a significant decision has been made to relocate the bus stand located in the middle of the city.
