Siliguri, 02nd April: In view of the poor health-care facilities in the entire North Bengal, Siliguri Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya donated 1 lakh rupees to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund from his monthly MLA allowance, on Thursday.
During a press conference, the Mayor stated that the overall view of North Bengal’s medical facilities is lacking far behind from the rest of the country. He further stated that the residents of Siliguri are in a constant state of panic as no proper COVID-19 treatment has commenced in North Bengal. Therefore, he advised an immediate up-gradation of North Bengal’s healthcare infrastructure and proper access to medical facilities.
The Mayor also urged the citizens to follow the government guidelines and stay indoors.
