Siliguri, 26th August: Matigara police successfully apprehended two notorious drug peddlers, Bishwajeet Sarkar alias Jal (25) and Manish Rajak (26). The accused individuals were allegedly deeply involved in the illicit drug trade for a long time and the police had been actively pursuing them.
The cops’ efforts culminated in a late-night operation on Friday when the duo was apprehended near the Shiv Mandir-Phansidewa More underpass. 31 grams of brown sugar was recovered from the possession of both accused individuals. It is believed that the suspects had intended to engage in drug smuggling on the night of their apprehension, but the police intervention preempted their plans. The duo was presented before the Siliguri court today.
