Siliguri, 28th June: Acting on a tip-off, the Matigara Police, on Sunday, launched operations at Phansidewa More Matigara and arrested two youths for possession of drugs.
The arrested have been identified as Prasanna Bagchi alias Puchu, a resident of Rabindra Sarani in Shivmandir, and his associate Raunak Pradhan, a resident of Chiriya More Durga Mandir. 22 kgs of cannabis and a motorcycle were seized from their possession.
Reportedly, the duo was actively operating and supplying drugs and contraband substances to the drug abusers at Durga Mandir, Haler Matha, and the Pakistan Basti area. The arrested individuals were produced at court today.
