Siliguri, 22nd January: Based on a tip-off, the Matigara Police arrested a man along with 330 grams of brown sugar worth lakhs. The arrested accused has been identified as Muzaffar Ali, a resident of the Lalgola area of Murshidabad.
According to police sources, Muzaffar Ali, on Thursday, arrived in Siliguri from Murshidabad to smuggle the brown sugar, However, was nabbed near Matigara’s City Centre before he could do so.
He was produced at the Siliguri court today and has been taken into 7-day police custody.
