Siliguri, 29th May: A massive tree toppled and crashed into an electricity pole in Ward No. 15 of Siliguri on Tuesday night due to the heavy rain and strong winds. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported from the incident.
According to reports, the tree collapsed onto a house near the Udyan Samiti Club in Ward No. 15 of Siliguri, breaking power poles and causing electrical wires to snap. As a result, some parts of the house suffered damage and power supply was disrupted throughout the area.
The homeowner stated that around 10:30 PM last night, the tree crashed onto their house during the storm. Following the incident, the entire area was left without electricity. The Deputy Mayor of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation visited the site last night and immediately arranged for the removal of the fallen tree. However, the electricity supply has yet to be restored to normalcy.
