Massive fire engulfs historical Hollong Bungalow in Jaldapara forest of Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 19th June: In a devastating incident, the historic Hollong Tourist Lodge located in the Jaldapara National Park in Alipurduar was completely gutted by a raging inferno. Significantly, North Bengal Chief Forester Bhaskar JV, accompanied by Parveen Kaswan, DFO of Jaldapara Wildlife Division, has initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause behind the mishap.


According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday night. Fortunately, no tourists were present in the bungalow at the time of the incident due to the annual closure of the national park. The bungalow was immediately engulfed in flames due to the architectural wooden structure.

Following this, several individuals expressed their concerns regarding the tourism business. Additionally, a thorough investigation into the matter had been highly requested. Subsequently, Chief Forester Bhaskar JV rushed to the site on Wednesday to investigate the entire matter. He further revealed that the preliminary assumptions indicate that the fire was caused by a short circuit. However, a detailed investigation will be conducted to confirm the actual reason behind the mishap.
