Siliguri, 06th April: Chaos ensued after a massive fire engulfed a factory located in the Bholanath Para adjacent to the Eastern Bypass of Siliguri. Reportedly, due to short-circuiting that occurred in the bleaching and phenyl factory this afternoon.
Reportedly, it is speculated that due to the huge amount of chemicals inside the factory, the fire spread rapidly and took a formidable form. The entire area was shrouded in black smoke.
On the other hand, as soon as the news of the incident was received, the police of the Ashighar Out Post reached the spot. Meanwhile, several fire engines from Siliguri and Dabgram fire stations reached the spot and doused the fire after almost two hours of effort. The massive fire engulfed a lot of chemicals kept in the factory and was burnt to ashes. Apart from this, the condition of the factory is also said to be hazardous, with all the chemicals being burnt down.
