Kharibari, 22nd December: A tragic incident surfaced where four bighas of paddy cultivation were burnt down to ashes in Paschim Howdavita of Kharibari.
According to reports, early hours of Friday, four bighas of paddy crop cultivation owned by Krishna Prasad, a local farmer caught fire. Following this, the locals first attempted to extinguish the fire.
Upon receiving the news, the Kharibari police arrived at the spot. Subsequently, a fire engine from Naxalbari reached the spot and brought the inferno under control.
In this regard, the farmer alleged a conspiracy behind the fire. He added that about ’80 mann’ of paddy were burnt to ashes. At present, the police are engaged in investigating the entire incident.
