Bagdogra, 30th June: The statue of a martyred solder was unveiled in Kamalpur village in Bagdogra. Sanjay Oraon, of Gorkha Rifles, was martyred last year in a landslide during his posting at Tupul Yard Railway Construction Camp in Manipur. On Friday, Padma Shree Karimul Haque unveiled the statue of the martyred soldier.
Reportedly, to mark the day, a blood donation camp was also organized by the Islampur Sisters Brothers Society. During the program, Ranger Samiran Raj of Bagdogra Forest Department, Nirmal Kumar Das Officer-In-Charge of Bagdogra Police Station, Social Worker Bapan Das, Army personnel Bilas Debnath, Ravi Debnath, family of martyr Sanjay Oraon, and others were present.
