Martyr Ghana Shyam Mishra’s biography published at Siliguri Journalists Club

Siliguri, 21st March: The biography of Martyr Ghana Shyam Mishra was published for the second time at the Siliguri Journalists Club on Sunday.

Earlier, the book was published in Malda. Ghana Shyam Mishra’s son Omprakash Mishra, who is also the Siliguri Assembly Trinamool candidate for the upcoming election, was present at the book launch event along with his family members.

It is to be noted that Ghana Shyam Mishra was the founder of the Chah Mazdoor unions in Dooars during the British period and post-independence. Mishra raised his voices against the injustice over the tea workers. He was later assassinated.

Minti Dutta Mishra, daughter-in-law of Ghana Shyam Mishra, said that no documented writings on Mishra could be found. After relentless efforts of Minti Dutta Mishra, Gopal Raha, and Dr. Poulami Bhawal, they came across the accounts of Mishra written by his associates. They then compiled the articles into the said book.
