Siliguri, 15th June: In a grim discovery, the decomposed body of a man was found in a flat within the NJP police station area. The deceased has been identified as Subhabrata Dey (56).
According to reports, Dey had been living alone in his flat on Bhakti Nagar Main Road, NJP, following the death of his wife three years ago. Recently, Dey’s house helper became concerned after receiving no response when calling on him for several days. The helper alerted a resident of the building, who subsequently informed one of Dey’s relatives.
Upon being notified, Dey’s nephew arrived at the flat and, upon opening the door, discovered the decomposed body. NJP police were immediately informed and arrived at the scene to recover the body, which was then sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for an autopsy.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding Dey’s death.
